You might try EMERALD HOUSE RISING by Peg Kerr, a local MInnneapolis
fantasy writer. I found the first third slow, but it has started to take off.
(I'm about half way through now.) Anyway, I'm reading it on the bus going to
work. It might be good hospital reading.
