Pretty much as safe as any other credit card transaction, I do believe. I
haven't had any problems with it, at any rate. As long as the credit card
numbers are encoded (every one I've checked has had an encoding program in
place) and the dealer is reputable, I shouldn't think you'll have any
problems.
