The only ones that come readily to mind are some of Melissa Scott's (eg _Trouble and Her Friends_). Anyone have some particular recommendations? MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Its the old problem - what is cyberpunk and what is feminist? To me Pat Caidgan's "Fools" remains cyberpunk and imo is feminist - both strong and wimpish women, the whole spectrum of theatrical, ignorant, smart or bitchy characters trying to get things under control. But: is it feminist because of all the female characters? Can it be feminist when written by a writer who declared herself not to be a feminist at the time of publication? (I guess she wanted to avoid to be declared a feminist cyberpunk writer just because she was a woman. Her view on that changed somewhere down the line.) I'm looking for a science fiction or fantasy novel that is out of print and in the public domain, and worth bringing back into print. Ideally it would be good enough to actually have some sales potential. I'm sure there are great, long-forgotten novels gathering dust in libraries! I've e-published (on my website) an H. Rider Haggard novella, "Black Heart and White Heart" that I think was pretty much out of print until I scanned it and HTML'd it myself and put it on the web. I'd like to find something I could publish on real paper. Any suggestions? Feel free to e-mail me privately if you want to!
